Devotion

The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. Paul tells believers to comfort one another and build one another up. This is more than offering a quick compliment. It is the intentional work of strengthening another person’s faith, courage, and hope.

Words have the power to build or tear down. A thoughtful message, a prayer offered at the right time, a reminder of Scripture, or an honest affirmation of someone’s faithfulness can become a support when they feel weak. Encouragement does not require us to ignore problems. It means we bring truth with grace and help others remember that they are not alone.

We all need people who speak hope into our lives, and we are called to become that kind of person for others. Ask God to make you attentive. Someone near you may be carrying a burden quietly. Your simple act of care may be one way the Lord strengthens them today.
