Daily Inspiration: More With Us Than Against Us

2 Kings 6:16 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Scripture

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

2 Kings 6:16 KJV

Devotion

Elisha’s servant saw an enemy army surrounding the city and concluded that all was lost. Elisha saw the same visible situation, but he also trusted the unseen protection of God. When the servant’s eyes were opened, he saw the mountain filled with horses and chariots of fire. The threat was real, but it was not the whole reality.

Fear often speaks as though what we can see is all that exists. A difficult diagnosis, a strained relationship, a financial burden, or an uncertain future can fill our vision until we feel surrounded. This passage does not ask us to deny the facts. It invites us to remember that God is present beyond what our eyes can measure.

Faith grows when we bring our limited view to the Lord and ask Him to give us His perspective. We may not see a dramatic answer immediately, but we can know that we are not abandoned. The power of God is not weakened by the size of the problem before us.

Daily Application

When a problem feels larger than your faith, describe it honestly to God and then name one truth about His power, presence, or faithfulness that is greater than your fear.

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to trust You beyond what I can see. When fear tells me I am alone or overwhelmed, remind me that Your power and presence are greater than every threat before me. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection Question

What visible problem has been filling my view more than the presence of God?
