Daily Inspiration: The God Who Does Not Leave Us

1 Kings 8:57 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Scripture

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

1 Kings 8:57 KJV

Devotion

At the dedication of the temple, Solomon looked back at the faithfulness of God to previous generations and prayed that the same presence would remain with the people. His prayer recognizes something we all need to remember: the God who has been faithful before is not limited to the past. His presence is not a memory attached to former seasons.

There are days when God feels near because circumstances are peaceful, prayers are answered quickly, and the path seems clear. There are other days when His presence must be trusted rather than felt. In both kinds of days, His character remains the same. He does not abandon His children when they are weary, uncertain, or facing a change they did not choose.

Looking back at God’s past faithfulness can strengthen us for the present. Remember the doors He opened, the help He provided, the correction that protected you, and the grace that carried you. Those memories are not meant to make us live in the past. They are meant to remind us that the Lord is still with us now.

Daily Application

Write down two ways God has shown faithfulness in a past season. Thank Him for them, then bring one present uncertainty to Him with the confidence that He has not changed.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for every way You have been faithful in my life. Stay near me in this present season, strengthen my trust, and help me rest in the promise that You will not leave or forsake me. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection Question

How does remembering God’s past faithfulness change the way I face today’s uncertainty?
