The angel spoke these words to Mary in the context of a promise beyond ordinary human possibility. Mary did not receive every answer about what the future would hold, but she was invited to trust the God whose power is not limited by human calculation.

We often use the word impossible for situations that have reached the edge of our understanding. A relationship may seem too broken, a need too large, a habit too entrenched, or a future too uncertain. Luke 1:37 reminds us that our limits are not God’s limits. He is able to provide, heal, guide, transform, and open a way where we cannot see one.

This promise should lead us to prayerful courage, not careless presumption. We do not demand that God fulfill every desire in the exact way we imagine. We bring our need to Him with confidence that nothing is beyond His power and with humility that His wisdom is perfect. The God who can do the impossible is also the God who knows what is truly good.
