Today’s Encouragement

Proverbs 18:10 gives a clear picture of God as a place of refuge, protection, and safety.

When it says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower,” it is speaking of who God is. His name represents His character, His power, His faithfulness, His authority, and His presence. In Bible times, a strong tower was a safe place people could run to when danger came. It was built to stand firm and protect those inside.

The phrase “the righteous runneth into it” shows urgency and trust. When trouble comes, the righteous do not just admire the tower from a distance — they run to it. Spiritually, that means God’s people turn to Him in prayer, faith, worship, obedience, and dependence. They seek refuge in Him instead of relying only on their own strength.

Then the verse says, “and is safe.” This is the promise. The Lord is not a weak shelter or uncertain defense. He is strong enough to protect, faithful enough to sustain, and near enough to help. Safety in God does not always mean we avoid every hardship, but it does mean our soul is secure in Him.

This scripture reminds us that when fear, trouble, temptation, or uncertainty comes, we have a place to run. The Lord Himself is our strong tower. In Him, we find peace, strength, protection, and safety.
