Daily Inspiration: The Greater Blessing Of Giving

Acts 20:35 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Scripture

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Acts 20:35 KJV

Devotion

Paul reminds believers that work and provision are not only for personal comfort. We labor so that we can support the weak and remember the words of Jesus: It is more blessed to give than to receive. Giving reflects the heart of God, who has given us every good gift through Christ.

The blessing of giving is not always a financial matter. We can give time, attention, hospitality, skill, encouragement, forgiveness, and practical help. Giving turns our focus outward. It breaks the habit of measuring life only by what we can keep for ourselves.

This verse does not shame people who need help. In different seasons, each of us may be the one receiving care. God often works through His people so that burdens are shared and no one is left unseen. Whether we are giving or receiving, we are reminded that generosity is part of the life of grace.

Daily Application

Look for one way to support someone who may be weak, overwhelmed, or in need. Offer a practical gift of time, help, encouragement, or resources without expecting anything in return.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for every gift You have given me. Make me generous with my time, resources, and attention, and show me how to support people who need encouragement and practical care. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection Question

What has God entrusted to me that I can use to strengthen someone else?
