Daily Inspiration: Living With A Loving Heart

1 John 4:19 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Today’s Scripture

We love him, because he first loved us.

1 John 4:19 KJV

Today’s Encouragement

Love in Scripture is active, patient, and costly. It is more than a warm feeling toward people who are easy to enjoy. God’s love teaches us to value others, speak with care, serve without needing applause, and choose what is good for another person.

A loving life is often proven in small moments: listening fully, answering gently, forgiving quickly, helping quietly, and seeing people as souls made in the image of God. Love becomes a daily witness when it shapes both our attitude and our actions.

1 John 4:19 reminds us that our love for God begins with His love for us. We did not love Him first. We did not reach for Him before He reached for us. God loved us while we were still sinners, and His love was proven through Jesus Christ.

The phrase “We love him” speaks of the believer’s response to God’s goodness, mercy, and grace. When we understand how deeply God has loved us, our hearts should be moved to love Him in return. Our obedience, worship, service, and devotion should flow from a heart that is grateful for His love.

The words “because he first loved us” show that God’s love is the foundation of everything. His love came before our faith, before our repentance, before our service, and before our desire to follow Him. He loved us when we could not save ourselves, and that love changes the way we see Him, ourselves, and others.

This scripture teaches us that true love is not something we manufacture on our own. It is the fruit of receiving God’s love and allowing that love to work in our hearts. When we remember how patiently, graciously, and faithfully God has loved us, we are better able to love Him and love others with humility and compassion.

Daily Application

Today, let the love God has shown you shape the way you live. Spend time remembering His mercy, His patience, and His faithfulness in your life. Then look for a way to reflect that love to someone else through kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, or service. Love God with gratitude, and let His love flow through you.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for loving me first. Thank You for showing mercy when I did not deserve it and for giving Your Son so I could be saved. Help me to love You with a sincere heart and to reflect Your love in the way I treat others. Remove selfishness, bitterness, and pride from me, and teach me to live with a loving heart that honors You. Lord, fill my heart with the kind of love that reflects You. Help me love in action, not only in words or intention. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection Question

How can I better reflect the love God has shown me in the way I love Him and others today?
