Devotion

Hosea calls God’s people to more than a moment of religious emotion. They are invited to follow on to know the Lord. Knowing God is a continuing pursuit. It grows through Scripture, prayer, obedience, worship, repentance, and the repeated choice to turn toward Him.

The prophet compares God’s coming to the certainty of morning and life-giving rain. The sunrise may be hidden by clouds for a time, but its arrival is sure. Rain brings renewal to dry ground. In the same way, God’s presence refreshes hearts that have become dry through neglect, disappointment, or self-reliance.

Spiritual growth is rarely rushed. We learn to know the Lord as we keep following Him through different seasons. Some days may feel full of insight; others may feel quiet. Do not mistake a quiet season for an empty one. Continue seeking, learning, and obeying. God is faithful to meet hearts that desire to know Him truly.
