Psalm 23:1 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Today’s Scripture

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:1 KJV

Today’s Encouragement

Psalm 23:1 is a beautiful statement of trust and confidence in the Lord.

When David says, “The LORD is my shepherd,” he is describing God as the One who leads, protects, provides, corrects, and cares for His people. Just as a shepherd watches over his sheep, the Lord watches over those who belong to Him.

The phrase “I shall not want” means that when the Lord is our Shepherd, we can trust Him to supply what we truly need. It does not mean we will never face trouble, but it means we are never abandoned, uncovered, or without His care.

In simple terms:
Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I can rest in His guidance, trust His provision, and know that He will take care of me.

This verse invites us to slow down and remember that true peace comes from the Lord. We may not control every circumstance, but we can bring our burdens to God and let His presence quiet our hearts.

Daily Application

Pause for a quiet moment, breathe, and give one specific concern to the Lord in prayer.

Prayer

Lord, quiet my heart and fill me with Your peace. Help me place my burdens in Your hands today. Amen.

Reflection Question

What burden do I need to place in God’s hands?
