Today’s Encouragement

John 14:27 is a comforting promise from Jesus that His peace is different from anything the world can offer.

When Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you,” He is giving His followers a peace that comes from His presence, His promises, and His power. It is not based on perfect circumstances, easy days, or everything going our way. It is a deep inward peace that remains even when life is uncertain.

The phrase “not as the world giveth” means the world’s peace is temporary and often depends on outward things like money, comfort, safety, or control. But the peace of Jesus is spiritual, lasting, and secure because it is rooted in Him.

When He says, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid,” Jesus is reminding us that fear and worry do not have to rule our hearts. We can trust Him even in difficult seasons because He has not left us comfortless.

In simple terms:
Jesus gives a peace that the world cannot give and trouble cannot take away.
