Today’s Encouragement

This verse is a powerful reminder of the life-changing work of Jesus Christ. When a person is “in Christ,” they are no longer defined by their past sins, failures, regrets, or former way of living. Through salvation, God does not simply improve the old life; He gives a new life.

The phrase “he is a new creature” means that a true relationship with Christ brings inward transformation. The heart, desires, direction, and purpose of life begin to change. The old things—the guilt of sin, the bondage of the past, and the former identity apart from God—are passed away. In Christ, all things become new because He gives forgiveness, restoration, hope, and a new walk with Him.

This does not mean a believer will never struggle again, but it does mean they no longer have to live chained to what they used to be. Jesus gives a new beginning, a new identity, and a new future.
