Daily Inspiration: Sure Footing In Difficult Places

Habakkuk 3:19 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Scripture

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Habakkuk 3:19 KJV

Devotion

Habakkuk ended his book with trust in God even though the circumstances around him were not yet resolved. Earlier in the chapter, he described the possibility of empty fields and failing resources. Yet he chose to rejoice in the Lord because God Himself would be his strength.

The image of feet like a deer on high places speaks of sure footing where the path is steep and difficult. God does not always remove the mountain immediately. Sometimes He gives us the stability, balance, and courage to walk across it. His strength is not limited to the moment when life becomes easy again.

Difficult places can teach us how dependent we are on God. We learn to place each step carefully, seek His wisdom, accept help, and trust His faithfulness more than our own ability. The high place may still be challenging, but we are not left without strength. The Lord can make a path possible even where we once thought we could not continue.

Daily Application

Think of one difficult path you are walking. Ask God for sure footing rather than only a quick escape, and take the next careful step with His strength instead of your own pressure.

Prayer

Lord God, be my strength in the difficult places. Give me steady footing, wise direction, and courage to keep walking faithfully when the road is steep or uncertain. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection Question

What difficult place do I need to walk through with God’s strength one step at a time?
