Today’s Encouragement

Proverbs 16:3 teaches that when we surrender our work and plans to God, He brings steadiness and direction to our heart and mind.

When it says, “Commit thy works unto the LORD,” it means we should place what we are doing into God’s hands. Our labor, decisions, goals, responsibilities, business, ministry, family matters, and daily efforts should be submitted to Him. It is more than asking God to bless our plans after we make them; it is inviting Him to lead the plans from the beginning.

The word “commit” carries the idea of rolling something over onto the Lord. It means trusting Him with the weight of it instead of carrying it alone. We do the work faithfully, but we depend on God for wisdom, guidance, provision, and results.

Then the verse says, “and thy thoughts shall be established.” When we commit our works to the Lord, He helps settle our thoughts. He can bring clarity where there is confusion, peace where there is anxiety, and direction where there is uncertainty. He helps align our thinking with His will.

This scripture reminds us that surrender brings stability. When our work is placed in God’s hands, our mind does not have to be ruled by fear, pressure, or doubt. The Lord is able to establish our thoughts and guide us in the way we should go.
