Romans 5:8 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Today’s Scripture

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 KJV

Today’s Encouragement

The epistles connect what we believe with the way we speak, decide, forgive, endure, and serve.

Romans 5:8 shows us that God’s love is not just something He says—it is something He proved.

When the Bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us,” it means that God clearly demonstrated His love in a powerful and undeniable way. Even in our sinful state of being, unworthy, and undeserving, He loved us with a love more than we can comprehend.

The words “while we were yet sinners” remind us that Christ died for us while we were still lost, guilty, and separated from God because of sin. His sacrifice was not based on our goodness, but on His mercy, grace, and great love.

When the verse says, “Christ died for us,” it points us to the cross, where Jesus willingly gave His life in our place. He paid the price for our sin so that we could be forgiven and restored to God.

In simple terms:
God proved His love by sending Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners in need of a Savior.

Love in Scripture is active, patient, and costly. It is more than a warm feeling toward people who are easy to enjoy. God’s love teaches us to value others, speak with care, serve without needing applause, and choose what is good for another person.

A loving life is often proven in small moments: listening fully, answering gently, forgiving quickly, helping quietly, and seeing people as souls made in the image of God. Love becomes a daily witness when it shapes both our attitude and our actions.

Daily Application

Choose one person today and show love in a concrete way: listen, encourage, help, forgive, or speak with unusual gentleness.

Prayer

Lord, fill my heart with the kind of love that reflects You. Help me love in action, not only in words or intention. Amen.

Reflection Question

How can I show Christlike love in a practical way?
