Daily Inspiration: Peace In The House

John 14:27 KJV

Scripture For Today

John 14:27 (KJV)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Encouragement

The peace Christ gives is not fragile peace. It is not dependent on everything being finished, settled, or easy. His peace can guard the heart while life is still in motion.

John 14:27 is Jesus speaking comfort to His disciples before He goes to the cross. He knows they are about to face confusion, grief, fear, and uncertainty, so He gives them a promise that reaches far beyond their circumstances: His peace.

The peace Jesus gives is not the same kind of peace the world offers. The world’s peace often depends on everything being calm, safe, predictable, and under control. But the peace of Christ can remain even when life is difficult. It is a peace that comes from knowing He is present, He is faithful, and He is still in control.

When Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you,” He is giving them something personal. It is not just peace about Him; it is peace from Him. His own peace becomes their strength.

The phrase “not as the world giveth” reminds us that worldly peace can be temporary, shallow, or based on circumstances. But God’s peace is deeper. It reaches the heart. It steadies the mind. It comforts the believer even when the outside situation has not yet changed.

Then Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” That does not mean believers will never feel fear or concern. It means fear does not have to rule the heart. Trouble may come, but it does not have to take over. The believer can rest in the peace Jesus gives.

This scripture is a beautiful reminder that the presence of Christ brings peace into the heart, into the home, and into every troubled season of life. His peace is not fragile. It is lasting, steady, and stronger than fear.

Today’s Application

  • Let your home become a place where prayer is stronger than hurry.
