Daily Inspiration: Hope That Holds

Romans 15:13 KJV

Scripture For Today

Romans 15:13 (KJV)

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Encouragement

Biblical hope is not wishful thinking. It is confidence anchored in the God of hope. He is able to fill the believing heart with joy and peace that outlast the circumstances.

Romans 15:13 is a prayer and blessing about the hope that comes from God.

When Paul says, “Now the God of hope,” he is reminding us that hope does not begin with our circumstances. God Himself is the source of true hope. The world may offer optimism, wishes, or temporary encouragement, but the believer’s hope is rooted in the character and promises of God.

The phrase “fill you with all joy and peace in believing” shows that joy and peace come as we trust Him. This does not mean every situation becomes easy, but faith in God brings a deep inner confidence. Joy steadies the heart, and peace quiets the fear, even when life is uncertain.

Then Paul says, “that ye may abound in hope.” To abound means to overflow. God does not want His people barely holding on with a little hope. He is able to fill the heart so fully that hope rises above discouragement, fear, and weariness.

The verse ends with “through the power of the Holy Ghost.” This reminds us that Christian hope is not produced by human strength alone. The Holy Spirit strengthens, comforts, encourages, and helps us believe when we feel weak.

Romans 15:13 teaches that God can fill the believer with joy, peace, and overflowing hope. Even when circumstances are heavy, the Holy Ghost gives power to keep trusting, keep believing, and keep standing in the hope that only God can give.

Today’s Application

  • Ask God to refill your hope where discouragement has drained it.
  • Choose one promise of Scripture to remember throughout the day.
  • Speak hope carefully to someone who needs steady encouragement.

Prayer

God of hope, fill me with joy and peace in believing. Help me abound in hope by the power of the Holy Ghost, and let that hope bless others today. In Jesus name, amen.

Reflection Question

Where does my hope need to be anchored again in the Lord?
