Gratitude trains the heart to notice grace. It does not deny hardship, but it refuses to let hardship become the only story we tell ourselves. A thankful spirit remembers that every good gift comes from God and that His kindness often appears in ordinary places.

When we practice gratitude, we become less controlled by comparison and complaint. Thankfulness helps us receive today with an open heart, appreciate people more, and recognize that God has been faithful in details we may have rushed past. Pray often throughout the day as this strengthens your relationship with God. He desires to hear from you. Take time to recognize how blessed you are, even in things that may seem small. Offer your thanksgiving unto the Father, and recognize Him as the giver of all our blessings.
