Philippians 4:6-7 KJV

Daily KJV Scripture

Today’s Scripture

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV

Today’s Encouragement

Philippians 4:6-7 is a comforting reminder that God does not want His people to be ruled by worry, fear, or anxiety.

When the verse says, “Be careful for nothing,” it means we should not be full of anxious care or troubled worry. This does not mean we ignore problems, but that we bring them to God instead of carrying them alone.

The phrase “in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving” teaches us to pray about everything. Prayer is coming to God, supplication is asking Him for help with our needs, and thanksgiving reminds us to trust Him with a grateful heart, even before the answer comes.

When it says, “let your requests be made known unto God,” it shows that God invites us to bring our burdens, needs, fears, and concerns directly to Him.

The promise that follows is “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding.” This is a peace that does not always make sense to the world because it can calm the heart even when the situation has not yet changed.

The phrase “shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” means God’s peace guards us inwardly. It protects our emotions, thoughts, and faith as we trust in Christ.

In simple terms:
Instead of letting worry control you, bring everything to God in prayer, trust Him with thanksgiving, and His peace will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.

Prayer is not a religious formality added to the edge of the day. It is fellowship with the living God. In prayer, we bring our needs, our thanks, our questions, our sins, and our hopes before the One who already knows us completely. The habit of prayer changes how we carry life. Instead of silently collecting worry, we learn to speak honestly with God. Instead of acting as if everything depends on us, we remember that help, wisdom, correction, and peace are found in Him.

Daily Application

Set aside a few quiet minutes today to pray specifically instead of generally. Name the need, thank God for His care, and listen for the next faithful step.

Prayer

Lord, draw me closer to You in prayer. Teach me to bring every need and every praise before You. Amen.

Reflection Question

What have I been carrying that I need to pray about honestly?
